How Scooter Lifts Work

Scooter lifts are designed for the specific weight range and dimensions of folding mobility scooters and lighter power chairs. They're simpler, lighter, and often more affordable than full wheelchair lifts because they don't need to handle the weight of a heavy power wheelchair.

Most scooter lifts mount on the vehicle's trailer hitch or in the cargo area and can load/unload a folding scooter in under a minute. They work with a wide range of vehicles without major modifications since the lighter weight puts less structural demand on the mounting system.

Many models fold flat or detach when not in use.
