How Chair Topper Works

The Chair Topper is BraunAbility's signature wheelchair storage product. It mounts on the roof of your vehicle as a streamlined, aerodynamic pod. To use it, you fold your manual wheelchair and place it at the side of the vehicle. The Chair Topper automatically lifts the chair to the roof and stores it inside the weatherproof enclosure. To retrieve, press the button and the chair lowers back to you.

The entire process takes about 30 seconds. The key advantage: your vehicle looks completely standard from the outside. No hitch-mounted equipment, no cargo space used, no external racks. All passenger seats remain available, and the full trunk/cargo area stays open.

The Chair Topper works with most foldable manual wheelchairs and integrates with the vehicle's electrical system for powered operation.
